Police Station No.3
Topic posted by Bettyboop ... dated:10 March 2019

Can anyone shed any light on why a sign that says "Police Station No. 3" might have been found buried in a friend's garden on Gleneagles Road? I know there were five police stations in Trafford at one time but not sure when or all of their whereabouts? Can anyone shed any light please?

While that is true, it is free membership. This question began on M41's and I have been mailed two copies of it pivately. The answer is that during WW2 temporary Police stations were in place all over the district, this was one of them. Gleneagles was where it was found but that means little it could have arrived from anywhere.

But only if you're a 'member' of the page as it is private

The answer to that quest is to be found on the Urmston History Society Facebook page.
