Charles Ewart is not buried in St Michaels. Although he lived the last 16 years of his life in Davyhulme, in a cottage on Bent Lane. He was buried at a church in Salford. The church closed and became a factory, and the graveyard was paved over. In 1938 workmen found his grave, his body was exhumed and re-buried on the esplanade of Edinburgh Castle, beneath a granite memorial.
