Matthew Kelly - I had a small part on the same bill as David (Matthew) in a school play at Urmston Grammar School - still got the programme - we were mates for a short period when he was studying for his O levels - we attended Manchester Central Library for revision purposes, my mum used to give him a lift home when she picked me up. His dad used to go to Urmston Liberal Club - I worked behind the bar there and had regular updates for a time on his progress as an 'up and coming' actor.

Matthew Kelly used to come in our chippy on Flixton road and order fried rice, chips and a mushroom curry. He got really angry once because we gave him prawn curry - he [allegedly] took the lid off the carton and threw it in my face!

I went to school (Urmston Infants and Juniors) with Matthew and was in the Congy pantos with him for several years, also "The King And I" with Urmston Operatic Society (Urmston Musical Theatre). He played Louis and I was one of the Siamese Children. Since he has become famous I have met him several times and he is still the same lovely person he always was and always finds time for a chat.
